Squiggly letters vs. moderation

Many of our blogging friends have gone to moderating comments instead of squiggly letters (see a previous post on this). We have also been trying this out, in an attempt to save peoples' sanity and eyesight. (It sometimes takes Mama Squirrel two or three tries to tell a distorted lower-case X from a distorted upper-case X.)

However, we're not really happy with this, either. It means we have to keep checking to see if something's waiting to be approved, and it means that somebody's good comment might not show up here for several hours, and then you'd miss making a good comment on somebody's good comment. It's not like we get a lot of traffic here to start with, but it does feel like this slows down any kind of conversation.

So we're going back to the old squiggly way. It just works better here.
