A couple of days ago I posted about using the computer for so many homeschool things, and mentioned a broken link to a Giotto painting.
Yesterday our computer was out of commission for most of the day after Mr. Fixit discovered that it was suffering from a Nasty Virus. We're usually pretty careful about where we go online (even if it sounds like I'm Googling things left right and centre), but you can "catch things" just about anywhere. The computer equivalent of shaking hands at church, I guess.
One of the "symptoms" I'd noticed yesterday morning was that I kept getting redirected when I clicked on things. Redirected in a strange, somewhat related way--for instance, on a homeschool website I clicked on a page and got sent to one of those find-your-classmates websites. I didn't think I had hit the wrong button.
Anyway, after successful treatment by Dr. Fixit, the computer is back on its feet and feeling much better now.
This morning I was looking again at my post with the Giotto problem, and it suddenly occurred to me--it wasn't them, it was us! It wasn't a broken link, it was just the first time the computer started playing this amusing little game of re-direct.
So I tried it, and the Ambleside link worked just fine.
Moral of the story: if you think your computer's doing funny things, pay attention--it's probably saying "I'm sick."

So glad it's feeling better.
There's lots of us out here in cyberspace who would mourn with you if your computer felt so ill that you needed to send it to hospital or something equally as terrible!
Imaging, a week without inspiration chez Dewey!

PS Word identification: robess. Is that a female robber, or a person who wears only dresses?
