French lesson for Tuesday

Today's Mission Monde page introduced six French "weather words": sun, rain, hail, cloud, snow, wind. We practiced those a bit, and I also brought in the expressions for "It's raining" and "It's snowing." Crayons found it interesting that the word for wind is "le vent," because she knows what vents are in English--something that air blows out of. I told her that the song "Jingle Bells" in French is "Vive le vent, vive le vent."

And that reminded me of the song "Il pleut, il pleut, bergère," which I printed out years ago to sing with the Apprentice. We found a very cute version of it on You-tube. (We also did some counting with Mimi.)
