Crayons is busy learning about teeth, mixed numbers, and Canadian history. She is doing grade five French. "Bonjour, je m'appelle...comment ça va...un deux trois..."
Ponytails is busy studying glaciers, soldering wires, and taking grade nine French (with kids who have been taking French since grade four). "Bonjour, je m'appelle...comment ça va...un deux trois..."
The Apprentice is busy doing university lab work and taking university-level French (a course for those who have had some French but haven't gone past about grade nine level). "Bonjour, je m'appelle...comment ça va...un deux trois..."
Do you get the feeling that Canada's language teaching is getting nowhere fast?
