Over at A Peaceful Day, Jeanne posted about Danny Kaye's original "Inchworm" from Hans Christian Andersen. Yes, we've watched that movie! It rambles a bit, but there are some great songs.
But this is the way I first heard Inchworm, on Sesame Street, November 1971, featuring Jerry Nelson and Fran Brill as the inchworm and the bug respectively.
And this is the way my kids know it best: sung by Canada's own Anne Murray on her album There's a Hippo in My Tub. The Apprentice just happened to mention the other day that at least she's never forgotten that sixteen and sixteen are thirty-two. (Which is good to know if you're a science major.)
