Dollygirl's Grade Six: big plans for Week 6

Almost halfway through the last term--we have gorgeous weather, there's a birthday coming up, the Apprentice is home to play with, and we don't always feel like sitting inside doing school.  But there is still quite a bit to finish up.

Arithmetic:  finish Key to Percents Book One this week
Dictation
Steps in Singing, break
Repetition (work on memory work)
History: Augustus Caesar's World, "Stepsons and Stars"
Timelines and People Pages
French:  Hachette's Illustrated French Primer, page 87:  "Le facteur apporte des lettres" (The mail carrier brings letters).  Practice using the verbs from this story:  to bring, to take, to give, to carry.  Be able to say things like "Bring me a book."

Tuesday

Opening
New Testament:  continue Saviour of the World
Arithmetic:  probably do the "practice test" at the back  of Key to Percents
Citizenship:  biography of Winston Churchill
Steps in Singing, break
Geography:  last section on Cornwall, plus map work

Afternoon work:  Continue readalouds (poetry, The Aeneid, The Fellowship of the Ring).  Plan for a party.  Composer study.  Picture study.  One afternoon a week:  science study with experiments (probably starting with the Build a Roman Water Clock kit)
