This reminds me of libraries culling great classics that nobody checks out anymore to make room for current pop twaddle. Except, I can understand library shelves having limited space - is there a number limit on words mandating removal of less-used ones to make room for trendy words?
Ah, thanks for mentioning me. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am at the sort of words that got edited out. Just squeeze the life out of the language.
And I haven't run into that many kids who had trouble learning the technology related words (or nagging about wanting the related hardware).
