Oh yes, please do read this today

More than once, I've gone back to Wendell Berry's novel Hannah Coulter; even posted about it here in relation to the way the children in the Branch family grew up, learning what they needed to learn and doing what they needed to do. One of the latest Circe Institute blog posts looks at the theme of education throughout the book, discussing what happened to Hannah's own children (who became successful in the modern sense, but lost too much personally). As the article asks, does schooling (and then work outside the home) have to mean the loss of one's roots?
