Newspeak Dictionary Censors Bad Words Like--Nun

Sebastian shares my own worries when I hear about dumb, dumb, dumb things like this.

Don't they want people to understand our language?

Scary stuff.

This reminds me of libraries culling great classics that nobody checks out anymore to make room for current pop twaddle. Except, I can understand library shelves having limited space - is there a number limit on words mandating removal of less-used ones to make room for trendy words?

Ah, thanks for mentioning me. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am at the sort of words that got edited out. Just squeeze the life out of the language.

And I haven't run into that many kids who had trouble learning the technology related words (or nagging about wanting the related hardware).
