In recent Treehouse news, Ponytails and the Apprentice survived having their ears pierced and are looking forward to being able to take their studs out THE SAME WEEKEND AS PONYTAILS' BIRTHDAY. (Ponytails wants everyone to know that.)
After it was over, the girls wanted to know how that thing worked, anyway; was it the earring that made the hole, or something else? So we looked up "ear piercing gun" online and found some scary information on why the old-style guns are being replaced by tools that can be sterilized (the old ones can't). However, I'd rather have had an old-style gun in the hands of someone with lots of experience (which we did), than a fancier new one and someone who's just started. And so far they've had no problems, even Ponytails who is apt to break out from just about anything.

Brave girls! Tell Ponytails that B still has not had her ears pierced, and she is Much Older. And Very Afraid.
Gracie will *never* have hers done, but The Boy is counting the days until he can have a cool earring, "just like Dad's" ;-).
