Oddly, it appears there are two versions of this book in print, published one day apart, with identical covers but different subtitles. The other is entitled "Cultural Amnesia: Necessary Memories from History and the Arts." This one has 768 pages, as compared to 896 for the "Notes In the Margins" version. Hmmm. Any idea what that's about? Maybe an Aussie edition and an American edition?
