Barbie goes to the mall

One day, Barbie went to the mall.

She saw a new store and decided to try on some clothes.

"I think I'm starting to see a pattern here!"

"Aaahh! Even the shoes are too skimpy!"

"Can I help you with something?"
"You can help me get pneumonia! I'm shopping somewhere else."

Barbie was walking to the pizza restaurant when she saw another new store.

So she went in.

She liked the clothes...

...and the hairstyles.

So she tried on an outfit.

She liked it so much that she bought it and another.

"Thanks so much for telling us about this awesome store, Barbie."
"Check out my cool threads, man."
"Yeah! This is, like, so totally retro!"

The End.

Can I shop at Mama Squirrel's Vintage Thrift Shop?

Apprentice, that purple and orange number is an interesting choice if Barbie's concerned about skimpy! I could have found her a couple of nice A-line dresses or maybe a maxi instead. But nice job anyway.

I love it, what a fun story!! I never got Barbies, and always loved playing with my friend's Barbie's. My friend's mother actually made her little Mennonite dresses and head coverings for the dolls.

That is so cute. My kids pretty much destroyed the Barbies of mine that my sister didn't! I loved my Barbies.... I always had nice clothes for them that weren't skimpy.

Love the idea about the Mennonite dresses and headcoverings! I might have to do that this week- would fit in with a lesson about the Martyr's Mirror. I'll have to post pics if I actually do that!

Simply . . . charming. :)

It seems like other people have had the idea for Mennonite and Amish doll clothes: they're a popular item at the farmers' markets around here.

You crack me up! I have a box full of my old Barbies, Skippers and Gidgets up in the attic. They are all pristine, for the most part. I was a bit obsessive-compulsive as a child. We had a maid whose daughter made Barbie clothes for us. I had fancy ball gowns, fur coats, cool pantsuits and all kinds of pretty dresses for my dolls. I don't think we had anything immodest given to us and my sister and I loved them.
