Having grown up on the Canadian border in Buffalo, NY many of these look familiar to me, too! In particular, I was partial to the Aero and Caramilk bars, and I had many friends who preferred Smarties. Thanks for this flashback!

Dawn, grew up watching Buffalo TV stations...Rocketship 7 and all the rest.

Did you get some Canadian snacks in Kingsville??

How fun! I had a particular love for Captain Kangaroo:).

No - I neglected to indulge in purely Canadian snacks while in Kingsville! Yet another reason I must return next year, right? In particular, I would like one of the creme sodas that are wonderfully bubbly and red.

Oh right--I forgot that cream soda is different in the U.S.

Yes it is different, to my dismay!!

And thanks for posting that link. I think my life is all the poorer for never having experienced a Nanaimo!!!!

I have never made Nanaimo bars--they seem like too much fuss. But I have eaten them, at church parties and other places where people bring "squares."
